Peter Blake born 1932 in Kent. Studied at Goldsmiths College along with Bridget Riley. Blake became one of the best known British pop artists during the 1950's and held his first solo exhibition in 1960.
Blake painted several notable album sleeves. His best known is probably the artwork for the most famous Album cover of all time Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Heart Club Band which has become an iconic work of the pop art genre. In 1983 Peter Blake received a CBE and in 2002 he received a knighthood for his services to art.
